Ping Shen is a director of the China Artists Association, vice chairman of the Hong Kong Art Association, and chairman of the Hong Kong Watercolour Research Society. He is native to Beijing and was raised in Shanghai. He had also been living in Urumqi, Xinjiang for 18 years. Before moving to Hong Kong more than 30 years ago, moving from north to south he is lived a challenging life but one which has also enriched his experiences. An artist like him was not hindered by change, and instead, is impassioned by them. The ability to adapt is always a successful artist instinct. Shen has chosen Hong Kong to be his home and continues to shimmer like a star in the art world.  As a painter he is praised for his vivid colours and unique style.

Shen's work carries striking beauty and exquisite detail. He is talented both in character and landscape painting.  His sensitivity to light is more imaginative than that of a camera. From the magnificence of Tianshan Mountains to fishing village lanes in Hong Kong and Macao, all are well depicted in his work.

For this exhibition, he has taken the time to revisit alleys and streets of Hong Kong and Macao.  ‘From Hong Kong to Macao’ is a precious collection of watercolours offered sincerely by Shen as a rare tribute to both cities. The exhibition will be held from September 21st to December 31st, 2018. Art enthusiasts can enjoy the Macau Tower T1 Articulate Gallery during the above time. A new perspective on Hong Kong and Macao is a refreshing experience for the senses.
