【Final Call】Light from Shadow - Exhibition by Eric Fok

Organized by the Headquarters of the Macau Cultural Creative Industry Association, sponsored by the Macao Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Macau Foundation, the "Light from Shadow - Exhibition by Eric Fok" curated by Articulate was held from December 18, 2017 to January 31, 2018 and took place at the T1 Art Gallery of the Macau Tower. The exhibition attracted many people who love art to find Eric Fok’s unique artistic voice.

The featured artworks display Eric Fok’s historic nautical charts. There are nearly 30 works exhibited, including his famous "Paradise" series. In addition to reproductions and originals, there are also some laser-etched paintings on wood to introduce a new medium. These paintings offer the audience a nostalgic yet fresh experience that should not be missed. Interested friends can visit the T1 Art Gallery of the Macau Tower from now until January 31 of 2018 to enjoy the beauty of history through nautical charts.

About Eric Fok

Hoi-Seng Fok (Eric Fok) was born in Macao, living in Taiwan and Macao, he draws with technical pen .The meticulous brushwork integrates the ancient map with the new constructions. It is a combination of tradition and modernity. His works were selected in “Illustration Exhibition - Bologna Children’s Book Fair(2013)” and “Art Nova100 ” in China. Eric was awarded the Macau Oriental Foundation Art Award in 2013, etc. He has been involved in exhibitions and Art Fairs in New York, Italy, UK, Portugal, Spain, Japan, Korea, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan etc. Including “Erik Fok - Paraíso” (Portugal Arte Periférica Gallery, 2014) ; “ FEBRE - Macao Contemporary Art 15 Artists” (Portugal Oriental Museum); “Conforming to Vicinity - A Cross - Strait Four - Region Artistic Exchange Project 2014”(Shenzhen He Xiangning Art Museum) ; “Swab Barcelona, (Fira Barcelona)”, “Taipei International Art Fair”. He also illustrated for “The World of Chaos - Hungry Ghosts”, a theatre program of Macao Arts Festival 2015 and designed promotional image for “Parade through Macao, Latin City” at Ruins of St. Paul’s zone. In 2016, published a book of his personal works “Paradise : when the ancient maps meet modern cities”. His works were collected by Macao Government Headquarters, Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macau S.A.R., Orient Foundation (Macao), The Orient Museum (Portugal), University Museum and Art Gallery of University of Hong Kong, and individuals in Italy, Las Vegas (U.S.A.), United Kingdom, Portugal, Spain, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macao.
